Pierre Barde bought this modest property of about 85 acres in Perigord in 1958; today the property is still in the Barde family and the land under vines has grown to 150 acres, split almost equally between red and white varieties. Their Socius is a 80/40 blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, done entirely in temperature-controlled tanks and bottled without malolactic for freshness; it has aromas and flavors of grapefruit and pear and is well balanced, with great finesse.
